Vinay Nair

Founder

Vinay Nair is a Mathematics Educator and co-founder of Raising a Mathematician Foundation, Vichar Vatika and School of Vedic Maths. He is experienced in K-12 education and has been conducting extensive online and offline programs for students, teachers and parents. He has spoken on TEDx twice on two of his core interests - history of Indian Mathematics and building higher order thinking skills. He was the recipient of All India Rank #8 in the subject of Mathematics in the Teaching Professionals' Olympiad organised by CENTA in 2018. The passion for gifted education in mathematics that Vinay carries attracts many young budding Mathematicians to be part of his learning cohort. His students and he regularly contribute articles on Mathematics in Mathematics magazines like At Right Angles. He is the author of two books (The Teacher who Taught us to Think and Journey to the Himalayas) and also an online course on Vedic Mathematics. He has presented several papers in National, Online and International Conferences. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD from Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth.

 

Vinay loves to travel, trek and blog in his spare time. He aspires to make Mathematics as unproblematic as it can be.

Yogesh Waikul

Co Founder

A Mechanical Engineer with Master’s Degree in Financial Management, Yogesh is undoubtedly a numbers guy by qualification. By profession however, he is a passionate teacher who loves focusing on building conceptual clarity in Mathematics and analytical thinking in students of all age groups. He is loved by students and parents for his teaching style and patience. He doesn’t mind explaining a concept multiple times until it is understood by the students. 

Before pursuing his passion for teaching mathematics, Yogesh spent 18 years working with corporate giants like Mahindra and Capgemini. Now, he works closely with students who wish to develop problem solving skills and trains them in non-routine mathematical problems. He has effectively developed the curriculum for reputed organisation like Tata Interactive Services (TIS). He is a part of Campus Credentials, a comprehensive training program for college students and Raising a Mathematician Foundation. ​

When he is not traveling and conducting sessions in different parts of India, he travels for the love of it. Yogesh is an adventure junkie and loves to be closer to nature so often.

R Hariharan

Hariharan is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany. He completed PhD in Management Accounting from Michigan State University, the USA in 2021.  Hariharan co-founded Raising a Mathematician Foundation (RAMF), where he is the head of the academic affairs. He was also an instructor for students pursuing Chartered Accountancy (CA) in India. He has a rich experience in the education sector and has taught preparatory courses from school level to Master's level. Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recognized his services in the field of education in 2015. Hari has an undergraduate and graduate degree in Accounting from University of Mumbai, India and is an Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) since 2010 and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) since April 2017. He scored the highest marks in CMA exam held in Feb 2017 and was also an All India Rank Holder in CAPE-I (May 2004) and CAPE-II (Nov 2005).

Shubhangee Daryapurkar

Faculty

Shubhangee Daryapurkar has been involved in experiential learning in Mathematics for over a decade. She engages and re-enforces the Mathematics concepts through interesting aspects like hands-on activities and games. She has worked with many schools across Pune and many students across India and in the US.

Shubhangee has designed and runs Ganit Kreeda course, workshops on Mathematics and logic-based activities and games for students across ages. She engages participants to kindle the fire of problem solving. She has authored competitive exam practice books and articulated Mathematics concepts in different articles for newspapers in play way language.

Sayali Tamane

Faculty

Sayali has an engineering degree from the Pune Institute of Computer Technology and a Masters in EdTech from the University of British Columbia. She has more than 15 years of experience in facilitation, curriculum development and training teachers and educators. She has also served as a member of the committee for textbook development for the Maharashtra State Board of Education. She has also collaborated with the Maharashtra State Education and Research Council (MSCERT) on developing a hybrid program for teacher training which was rolled out to 40,000 high school teachers. She has worked as an academic consultant for multiple schools and organisations across Maharashtra, Bharat Vidyalay (Wai), Urja Gurukul (Ahmednagar), Sondara Gurukulam (Beed), Mil ke Chalo Association (Amalner), Melghat Mitra (Amravati), to name a few. She is part of the ThinQ collective which focuses on developing the capabilities for deep understanding of concepts, inquiry, critical and transdisciplinary thinking in students. Her is passionate about helping students from marginalized communities develop the aforementioned abilities. Sayali is an expert in developing scientific temperament and research aptitude in people of all ages.

Rashmi

Faculty

Rashmi was trained as a biologist and pursued research in Neuroscience at NCBS, Bangalore. She later got interested in school education and the neuroscience of how we learn. Rashmi worked as a curriculum and program developer at Agastya International Foundation, an NGO working in the space of hands-on science education for underprivileged children in rural India. She believes that her association with ThinQ was a transformative experience for her as it helped her overcome fear and insecurity associated with open exploration and begin to see learning as an exciting journey. She has also taught middle and high school science at Farm Hill Learning, Krishnagiri, where she has tried to incorporate inquiry and critical thinking into her teaching practice. 

Preethi Rao

Preethi was a Software Engineer by qualification who left Corporate when she found her love for teaching. She is a trained Montessori teacher and has been working with children from the age of 6-12 for more than a decade. The Montessori approach to Math - from concrete materials to abstraction on paper - has given her a ringside view of how very young children learn and understand numbers and other concepts in Math. She believes that children need more than one approach to find their joy in Math. Each child's journey with Math is unique and she enjoys curating this experience for the child.
